I just need u to spare me that few minutes... You are right to say that that post of mine is insensitive... Absolutely, no doubts about it... Those are just some of my random thoughts while reading those post in the forum... In the process of doin so, I might not have spare a thought to many others who didnt do as well... I do accept those criticism and remarks from you people... In reality, one has to learn to take criticism (and other ppl opinion) to grow. Life is a whole process of lifelong learning... I am sure in your 20+ years of life, you had made (at least once) an unpleasant comment/remark that is just as insensitive... Dont we all learn to forgive and forget... Also, neither m i trying to boast my results nor m i trying to claim tt i m the very elite group of smarties... Think! If my sole purpose/intention is to show off, i would have remain anonymous in all my posts, for this semester and previous semesters! Furthermore, i would have change my email address to one w/o my matriculation number attached to it... But i will never do it, neither will i do it in the future, coz this would portraying a fake self, giving others a false impression of myself, to everyone and all my friends... i have nothing to hide... You could have easily login to ANY forum, search for any of my posts, click on my name, from my email, check my matriculation number... After which you can always check my ME2142 results for instant... Like u mention earlier, yup i m NOT from the deans list and neither would i be looking forward to being in the deans list (if i m in there, its just an additional bonus)... There are many many people ard in nus who are just much smarter, much brighter and much more intelligent than i m... like i mention in my later posts in ivle, To me, there are better things out in this world, and my life dun revolve round a first class hons... and first class hons isnt MY priority (maybe it yours)... I m sure, one day you will soon realise your definition of success in life isnt just abt tt piece paper... No doubts, you will be happy and joyful when u graduate (just as everyone will)... But is that all that u are after in your entire "life-line"? Maybe? maybe not?

You never know...

A first class hons issnt my priority and i will be more happy than not, to grad with my current 2nd upper cap of 4.35... I guess its just the "paper chase"... sometimes, have u ever wondered why u (yourself) is involved in this... Sometimes i ask myself, why do i have to study so much? I do live a life outside nus and looking forward to explore other things and gain other new experiences. I'm positive that things can only get even better from here (nus) onwards and frankly, I just can't wait. :)

its is hoped that you dont whine over this single issue or to judge oneself just solely over that one incident... I trust tt u arent so narrow-minded... :) For once u can take my words as it is, tt i m NOT a selfish person... My replies and posts in ivle forums (not just for this semester but previous few semesters as well, and those who did benefit from it) would suffice to justify my claim... we r all here (in nus) to learn and to achieve further growth.. Check ard with the friends who know me well...

Please do not be mistaken, neither m i here trying to boast abt my cap, nor m i here to irritate you... (Whats there to showoff even if u r in the deans list... tt doesnt make u the greatest achiever in life! wats more i m NOT!) I just want to clarify matters with you... why? in my opinion, its always better to make a new friend, than to have an enemy... Matthew, I sincerely wish you all the best in the coming examinations and your further endeavours... May you sore to greater heights in life... Good luck, god bless and good bye! :)

Hi Lip Tong,

Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving this comment to clarify things. Anyway, I typed quite a long reply but something went wrong so wasnt captured... so i'll summarise :)

I hope you have learned from this incident. No doubt, you have been a great help on the forums all this while, and that is very commendable. From all these, and from what ppl who know you personally, I know that you are not a selfish person. However, sad fact of life is that people tend to remember the bad things and forget the good ones...

I did rather badly in the MA3501 test (way below the mean)... as such I was pretty agitated about your post as at that moment, it was rubbing salt into my wounds.

Anyway, nobody is perfect, and its something all of us must keep in mind... For myself I admit that at times i envy those dean listers and those with cap 4.something (i'm in the low 3... 1st class already mathematically impossible)..and in fact last sem, i was stressing myself out real badly to pull my cap as i wanted to graduate with 2nd upper... in actual fact that had the opposite effect.. so now i made the decision to focus on other things which are as important such as character development and soft skills.

So, let's all learn from this incident, and move on. :) Likewise all the best in your coming exams, the rest of your ME education, and in your future! :D

Finally, No hard feelings, i also feel it's good to make new friends and not enemies in NUS.. moreover in professional degree like Engineering, someday I may need your help and vice versa and hence the importance of having good connections. God Bless =)

Best Regards,
MC
